Newport Beach Trip

July 2002

The king is dead; long live the king! This year we changed up the annual Huntington Beach trip and decided to stay at Newport Beach instead. Great food, beaches, and scenery resulted, as did a fabulous day in Disneyland.

James' suit brought to you courtesy of Baywatch San Francisco Edition.
Lots of people were having fun.
The police helicopter spotted us. Run!
A random shot of the street scene.
The police came out to play.
More cool firecrackers on the Fourth.
No better way to celebrate the birth of our country than by blowing up a small piece of it!
Grabbing some lunch at the diner.
What a catch!
Football on the beach is fun.
Kurt Warner has nothing on James.
A shot of our hotel room.
Grabbing some dinner at the diner.
A shot of Ben.
On the Disneyland tram.
Checking out some photos.
Leaving The Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!
Ben feeds his cactus obsession.
I really have no clue.
In line for Indiana Jones.
On Indy.
Ben and Kavita pose.
Getting some lunch at The Blue Lagoon.
Now part of the Disney Gestapo.
Yen and Tim on the Matterhorn.
The Matterhorn was too much for some of us.
However, we survived.
We were having way too much fun with our cameras.
Hanging out for a bit.
Some more lounging.
The eternal question what to do next
Chris and Yen decide to cool off.
Chris and Billy brave Space Mountain.
Yen and Tim on the teacups.
Battle faces in the Try to spin faster than the other cup for some reason wars.
Billy and Kavita (and Ben) get ready for the match.
Disneyland can really take it out of you.
A nice shot from Tarzan's Treehouse.
Random shot of Kavita, Ben, Jason, and Chris.
Doing YMCA on Splash Mountain.
Yen took one for the team so that we could pose.
Yen and Tim pose for the camera.
Another random camera shot.
Fatigue was setting in.
Chris and Billy are Men in Black on Space Mountain.
Jason loves the Matterhorn.
Yen gets a great score on the love tester.
Ben once again demonstrates how money he is.
Chris just isn't the insatiable object that Ben is.
Sexy James just doesn't have that same great ring to it that Sexy Ben enjoys.
No surprises here.
That's two for two, Yen!
I'm not convinced that Wild James is all that great, either.
Third time's a charm! Oh.
It apparently doesn't run in the family.
The machine finally starts working again.
...or does it Just kidding, James.
Billy Kakes, Man of Passion.
Tim is unstoppable.
What you can't see in this photo is her rating of Frigid.
A closer look.
Ben's thrilled with his score.
Well, at least this Ben is.
Go Kavita!
Half Dome we can manage, but Disneyland really beat us down.
